About The Running Shop

The Running Shop, which had a long and distinguished history in Aberdeen, is back in business. Previously situated in the Rosemount area of Aberdeen, the shop was there for over 21 years before a combination of emigration and retirement meant that the Jessiman's decided to call it a day at the end of 2013.

With Anne and Murdo’s help, the shop is back open and in new premises at 193 George Street in Aberdeen. New owner, Andrew Gordon, a running enthusiast himself, is looking forward to carrying on providing the same personal and friendly service which the Running Shop was renowned for, working closely with the local running community in an effort to support and encourage the development of running, from starting out, to more established runners.

After more years than I care to remember in accountancy, I decided to hang up the calculator and follow my passion. When the chance came up to take over the Running Shop it seemed like too good an opportunity to miss, so here goes!  I love running. I love the personal challenges that running provides. It's not really about PB's, but rather just about the joy of lacing up the trainers and getting out onto the trails and experience the freedom that running gives.

We're here to support the local North East running community in anyway we can, whether it's with specialist footwear, clothing and equipment or providing any advice we can in relation to things like run routes, races, training or injury recovery and prevention. We provide a video gait analysis service to help determine the correct shoe for you and all within a welcoming and friendly environment.
