The Running Shop's guide to local running clubs - The Insch Trail Running Club

RSS
In the latest of blogs on the local running clubs and groups in the North East, we turn the spotlight on the Insch Trail Running Club.  Although they've not been on the go for that long, they've done an awful lot to promote trail running here in the North East. With Bennachie on their doorstep, it's easy to understand why they are so passionate about their running and a nicer bunch of people you couldn't wish to meet and run with!
Many thanks to Jeni for the information.

The Insch Trail Running Club (or ITRC) are an off track endurance running club with our main focus being on trail and hill running. We are based around Insch and use Bennachie as our main training ground. The club train together every Tuesday (hill reps) & Thursday (speed work sessions) as well as organising weekend adventures.

We became affiliated with Scottish Athletics in 2016 but prior to that the club informally ran for 6 years. We have grown from 5 members who ran regularly to close to 40 and we are always attracting new members from our partner club JogScotland Insch. We cater for a range of distances from 5k hill races to ultra marathons and skyraces. We help our runners progress from tar to trail and on to technical terrain. We have a great wealth of runners from JogLeaders to Scottish Ultra Marathon Series winners who all work together to help each other out and share our love of mountain and trail running.
